I’m sure you’ve read something I’ve written saying that it’s important to be able to give to yourself so that you can continue to give to others… and that continues to be true. However, giving to yourself is much different than taking (receiving) from someone else.
The cycle of abundance involves many twists and turns. Abundance coming and going from your life doesn’t have to simply mean you’re purchasing and amassing. It goes much further than that!
As I sit in the park watching my grandson play tag with other kids on the playscape, the noise from all the children is deafening, yet I can pick out my grandson’s voice amidst the din. It makes me wonder how we are able to tune things out that are not important to us at the time, and yet when it’s necessary we’re able to tune into something such as someone’s voice, effectively filtering what we need from the noise. Have you ever thought you saw someone standing next to you, 
but when you turned there was no one there? Peripherally you may have seen what appeared to be the shadow of a person. The shadow could have been very light gray to dark gray. You may even have felt their presence at the time you saw them, which really makes the validation of your vision important. I want to validate and affirm what you are seeing. There really is someone there!

Zen is a form of meditation with focusing on the mindful awareness of the present moment. The phrase “being Zen” or “having a Zen attitude” has come to mean viewing life calmly with self-control. Zen is the harmonious state of the mind, body, and soul. It can help you relax, have a positive outlook on life, and find a higher plane of spiritual self.
“Zen” originated from the Japanese, however has also been known to have been altered and influence by the Chinese, Islamic and Buddhists. That being said, you can imagine how each culture has influenced the interpretation of Zen-like non-activity.
As humans, we filter all our experiences through our perceptions. Zen means waking up to the present moment and seeing things exactly as they are without our interference. We are too busy experiencing our own subjective version of existence to be in a Zen-like state. All too often I have clients that come to me asking one question… “What am I supposed to be doing with my life?” It may come as a surprise to you, but there’s no pat answer. And while I truly believe that this is why many are stuck in the rut of their lives, they stay grounded to the trap that they led themselves into.
Invariably, spirit leads them to their ultimate desire. This is something that they are passionate about, absolutely love, and seems like a dream job. However, very often people feel that they need to completely stop the present job or what they’re doing currently to begin the new leg of their journey. I don’t believe that this is so. I fully believe that they can work, pay their bills, and be financially comfortable while moving into their life’s passion.
