It’s the season where we plan, choose, prep, nurture, feel accomplished, and ultimately see the fruits of our labor bring forth a great harvest. Yes, I’m talking about a garden – of sorts.
Whether you plant flowers, and vegetables, pick them up at a roadside farmer’s stand or make your purchases at a supermarket, you’ve been given the opportunity to bring foods/things into your life that are healthy for you.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m certainly not a qualified person to give health advice, but to be honest, going through the planning stages of bringing forth a harvest of healthy food is very much like bringing forth a harvest of spiritual growth!
The world of Spirit often refers to “feeding” our soul when we do something that nurtures our soul and spirit. We often plan, decided what it is that we want to see grow, nurture that through the application, and feel a sense of accomplishment as we see our lives changing for the better. Yes, we see the “fruits” of our labor.
When we put forth the energy to do anything, and we continue on that pathway, we become what’s called an adept. We perfect our craft, the thing we’re blooming takes hold, and when we least expect it, what we’re nurturing takes on a life of its own. Others see the masterpiece you’re creating, it brings them the idea that they, too, can accomplish something great in their lives… even if it’s the elusive red tomato.
You see, this article came about because my husband can’t seem to grow tomatoes past the green stage. Those rascally little squirrels love to partake of the green tomatoes and throw them on the ground after taking one bite. Does my husband cover the plants – NO. Does my husband, then, feed the squirrels – YES. My husband saw a need, created a solution, and changed his goal. And we can always purchase fresh tomatoes from the farmer down the road.
I suppose in all of this, we can progress through the stages of growth, our eyes on the prize, full speed ahead, but we may be shown a different pathway. Listening to spirit is the same thing. When we focus on what we most need growth in, our pathway may need tweaking. Allow your “garden” to bloom freely. and, when you believe you’re planting tomatoes but chili peppers begin to grow, change your plans. .. you can still make salsa!
