Spirit Communication

I’m often asked how I know that spirit is trying to connect with me. And if I know, how do I determine who it is? Many inquire as to the symbols used in spirit communication. My answer is always that your guides, angels and ancestors initially will try to get you to understand that they’re near by any means possible. Very often there are subtle signs, which are often missed in our logical, harried minds. We often brush off the signs from spirit as coincidence, and go on our way. But, when the same type of symbols is repeated, we tend to take notice of the synchronicity happening around us.

This is when the symbols become more insistent. For instance you may feel a slight brush against your cheek and you touch your face to brush away the imaginary “hair”. You noticed, but didn’t correlate the feather-like touch as from spirit. A few days later you feel a pinch-like sensation on your cheek. You are bothered by the sensation and are hoping that it goes away after rubbing it. Then, a short while later, you actually feel a sharp pain in your cheek that feels like an electrical current, and the sensations of the past few days become clear in your mind – bringing you awareness of a pattern. If you don’t have the understanding of how spirit communicates, you may go to the doctor in the search for answers. If you realize that the sensations you have been feeling might, in fact, be from a spiritual being, you will then try to put two and two together in an attempt to determine who is attempting communication with you.

You may also see signs, such as butterflies around you, or you may hear noises or a song repeatedly. As on the physical plane, communication from spirit may occur in any number of ways. This is when you put your thinking cap on… Who, in spirit, have you been thinking of lately? Are you doing a study on a certain person in history? When we think of someone who is in spirit, we’re actually invoking them – bringing him or her toward us.

I have also noticed, through experience, that once we establish communication with a known spiritual being that they will continue to contact you in the same manner, thus enabling you to quickly understand who is making their presence known. One by one each spiritual being around you will make their presence known to you in their own unique way. Before long, you will have an arsenal of communicators in the heavenly realms.
