Developing Your Mediumship

As a demonstrating medium, one of the more personally difficult aspects of my life and job is the fact that I can’t be whatever someone needs. As much as I understand and empathize with someone’s pain, I can’t touch base with everyone’s ancestors, nor allow every spirit present to come through.

I feel this is topic is very important, so please bear with me…

In a public demonstration or a private reading, I have no control over where spirit leads me. As a medium, I feel, hear, see, taste and smell the messages spirit are trying to convey. I feel where spirit is leading me, for instance, if I’m being drawn to a certain side of the room or to a specific person. I see spirit standing behind or beside you, so I know I’m at least in that general area. I’m told, “talk to her” or “go to the left” and I do so, trying desperately to find the right person in the audience that belongs to the spirit present.

The question is then, what happens if there’s multiple spirit present with the same evidence? Again, I trust that spirit will find their loved ones in the audience by providing evidence that can be validated. Not always will it be an exact science – spirit may be hit or miss or I may misinterpret and have to be redirected.

One thing I’m sure to tell everyone in an audience is that if evidence comes through for someone other than yourself, but it makes perfect sense to you, then you can rest assured that your loved one is also trying to get through and you’re to own the message from your loved one. I can only address one person at a time, and that’s ALWAYS the person that spirit has directed me to speak to. Just because I don’t address you directly, even when you understand all the evidence, simply tells me that someone else’s ancestor had a better connection to my energy and was able to direct me to their loved one. In no way does this invalidate the message to you or diminish your ancestor’s love for you.

In a nutshell, I’m trying to say that in all things I follow the lead of those in spirit. I don’t pick or choose a person or group in the audience and decide to tap into them in an effort to connect to spirit. It’s your spirit people that I follow… and, ultimately, who I trust above all else. I’m just the messenger.

Here are a few things that I’ve found can improve the chances of communicating with your loved ones in a group setting.

• Come with another family member
• Begin thinking of your loved ones well in advance. Ask them to come to the party!
• Be open to hearing from someone other than that ONE person you want to hear from
• Recognize the messages for others may also be for you
• Realize other’s spirit people may have a more precise connection with my energy
• If your loved one doesn’t come through, or I’m not directed to you specifically, it doesn’t mean your loved ones aren’t around you all the time.
