Halloween, or All Hallows Eve, is traditionally said to be the time when the veil between the physical and non-physical worlds is the thinnest. This is the time when the spirits of those who have passed are closest to us, and most able to give guidance if we are open to it.
November 1st in the Christian tradition is All Saints Day — a day to celebrate the teachings, guidance, and life of those who are considered saints. The day prior to All Saints is when all souls make their presence known.
November 1st in the Celtic tradition is Samhain (pronounced sowen) and is the time of harvest, celebration, and preparation for the coming winter months. Often a place for the departed was left at the feast table. People would dress up like spirits to hide their human appearance from the gathering spirits.
Halloween grows out of these traditions. It is a time for us to make connections if we wish, to ask for guidance from souls or saints, and to honor our ancestors, present or passed.
To consciously reach through the veil, raise your own vibrations through thoughts and feelings of love, joy, laughter, expansiveness and best of all is meditation. Ask that only the highest information and love to come through. Ask your questions, open your heart, record your dreams, notice synchronicities and signs. All of these methods can be used to bridge the gap between the living and their spirit people on the other side.
