I’m using this Thanksgiving holiday weekend to catch up on tasks that I’ve been putting off. There are little things that we put to the wayside because they might not be as important as something else, but those little tasks may mount up until you have a momentous mountain of individual chores. Yep, that’s where I’m at. So I’m sitting here, the day after Thanksgiving, working semi-diligently, free from distraction, but I find my mind wandering. I actually think it’s time to take a nap, and I do believe I might have a little turkey tryptophan engaging my brain even though we didn’t have turkey this year. No, we had Delmonico steak, which I was exceedingly thankful for! Sorry, I digress…
About six months ago I began the transition from my old website to my new. It was more or less a new design that I had put in place because I felt that my old design was outdated and looking rather boring. I wanted to change things up – add more pictures that reflected what I wanted to convey. I wanted to speak visually as well as through the written word. I knew this transition would entail a huge learning curve for me, and there were some things that needed to be added immediately so that my site wouldn’t be down for any length of time. All the rest would be extras and fluff work. It’s the fluff work that I’m engaging in over this post-holiday weekend. It’s the back end stuff that I do, which you may not even notice. However, my mind is wandering thus the writing of this blog post instead of working on JPEG’s and pixels.
It’s part of my 2016 New Year’s resolution to devote one week each month to catch-up work; to do those little nagging things that tend to get put to the wayside. My website will always be a work in progress because things are always changing. New classes will be offered and I’m presently working on four new audio meditations. Also, hopefully 2016 will be the year that I finish at least one of the new books that I am presently working on. As I sit here I’m sending up a little prayer that spirit help me to inspire you to make the much-needed changes in your life. Whether they are small chores or momentous mountains. Diligence pays off!
