A little metaphysics 101. We’re not getting into the really deep stuff, but this is a little about how we can use metaphysics in our lives. I’m sharing some information I’ve learned through the years working with students, clients and my own spirituality, and I can unequivocally say that the practice of metaphysics has changed my life and how I deal with the world.
As we’re all spiritual beings we all experiencing psychic and spiritual phenomena. I do feel that grasping the deeper meaning behind metaphysics and how we can use it is the first step to making our lives a bit easier. I use metaphysics on a daily basis and some of it may seem kind of goofy but once you realize we’re all one, we can realize its big impact upon anything and everything around us. Not just our thoughts, emotions and energy, but also everything we experience on a daily basis is affected by metaphysical law.
Metaphysics is dictated by spiritual law – and there are many of them. However, for this post, I’ll only be going over the main few that I feel most of us need at any given time. Metaphysics is more than just putting feelings behind words and affirmations, but that is a big part of it. Metaphysics is more a daily practice, like a belief system, unlike religion where there’s tenets and practices. Metaphysics is about positively changing our lives by altering the way we speak and think. It really is a philosophy of science – it’s about how we are connected to the universe and everything in it.
Metaphysics brings us into alignment with what we want and don’t want. The more emotional energy we can give something the more energy it has, thus attracting to us what we focus upon. So, all the energy in the universe, all the spiritual helpers, Angels, Guides and ancestors are saying “Aha, that’s what she is seeking!” You are the magnet! You really are attracting to you that which you think, say and do.
Metaphysics is also a way of expanding the way we view the world. The way we learn, the way we gain knowledge, the way that we envision our potential, our own psyche – it’s all a part of the whole – the way we give and take from the universe. Allowing ourselves to use the laws of metaphysics empowers us to see the potential within ourselves through trust and faith in the universe. We’re showing the universe that we’re building and growing everything that our heart desires. Our job in all this is to make sure our heart and desires match what we truly want – not what we don’t want. I like to think of the practice of metaphysics as my wrecking ball, something that can blast through a brick wall. We’ve all built those walls in front of us that say we can’t jump high enough, we can get over this obstacle, we can’t surpass what’s holding us back. We want to use metaphysics as the wrecking ball to that wall so-to-speak. Our wrecking ball, which is metaphysics, can break down those barriers that we place before us thinking that we cannot accomplish something or that we’re not good enough.
Now onto the good stuff…
The Law of Attraction: This natural law states that you attract to you that which you are. I want to extend this to say that you attract to you that which you are, say, think, do and emulate. Everything was in your being is a perfect example of what you will reap. In looking at this natural law in this manner, it’s a little scary isn’t it? It makes me feel as though we need to second-guess, or filter everything that we do.
Keeping in mind that on the spiritual plane there is no past present or future, there just is. So when you are putting something out into the universe it doesn’t mean that what is yours will immediately come back to you. The action may be immediate and yet it may be lifetimes away, which brings me to the law of karma.
The Law of Karma: This law states that what you give out will come back to you. And again, incorporating the law of attraction, we must realize that we may be creating karma for ourselves or completing a karma from our past or even a past life. In the event we are creating karma we may complete this cycle within this present lifetime, but if we do not than the karma will continue until its complete in future lives. Heavy stuff isn’t it?
These are just two of the many universal laws, but two that we all deal with on a daily basis. Two laws that we can set in motion to benefit ourselves and others with diligence.
