Forgetfulness or Spirit Assistance?

 

After formulating my grocery strategy for the week, I notice something has gone haywire!

Recently I attended a Couponing class – you know, the ones where they teach you the hoarding methods? 🙂 My original goal in taking the class is to save more than I had been, which was no more than $4.oo on average each week. Today when I get to the store – purse check, coupon box check. I look through my list, but when I looked for the coupons that I organized for the store I realized I must have left the envelope on the kitchen table. You guessed it, I turned around and went back home! About five months ago I would have just bit the bullet and did my shopping anyway. Of course I probably would have only had a few bucks in coupon savings. I did return to the store with my coupons in tow, and saved a whopping $40, all on items we will use withing the next few months.

As I sit wondering what it is I should write about, I hear, “On this day in history”. So, I did a Google search for the exact phrase.Interestingly enough, or maybe not, the first item in the search was this


“On this day in 1941, WNBT-TV, channel 4 in New York City, was granted the first construction permit to operate a commercial TV station in the United States.

Owned by Radio Corporation of America (RCA), the station later changed its call letters to WRCA. As RCA developed the NBC Television Network and, especially, TV in ‘living’ color in the early 1950s, WRCA, as well as its TV counterpart in Los Angeles, KRCA-TV 4 (channel 4), changed call letters once again. To reflect the impact of network television, the station became WNBC-TV. On the west coast, KRCA was changed to KNBC-TV. Both stations remain the flagships of NBC television and are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the television network.”
