“You’re a muggle on the outside, but a wizard within.”Of course this quote is reminiscent of the Harry Potter movies, but when I heard it recently, it struck a cord.
I think we can all remember a time in our lives when we felt as though our true self wasn’t being expressed. Maybe we were being silenced by fear of failure, fear of being ridiculed, or not fitting in somehow, or maybe that’s who you want the world to see. In these times we’re not expressing our true identity or our strength.
We so often hide our true selves behind a muggle exterior like a protective shell in an effort to fit in or protect ourselves. We’re taught to meld with our society so that we can succeed and look normal. In effect, we hide the wizard within!
The wizard I’m talking about is someone who is unique, someone who knows their own mind and won’t alter it because it may be out of sync with others, and doesn’t allow themselves to be corralled like a bunch of clones. The wizard steps out of his or her restrictive comfort zone knowing they’re on their truth pathway, as God made them, brilliantly wielding their power.
We all have that wizard within us… even when we may not recognize that quality within our being. If you’re hiding your wizardly self, little-by-little try stepping into your power, owning who you are inside instead of who others perceive you to be.
